Every commercial term in Las Vegas personal injury carries a keyword difficulty between 75 and 79. A click costs between $25 and $62 in Google Ads. The firms sitting on page one have been buying links and building content since before this client had a website worth the name.

The client came to us in October 2025 with a Domain Rating of 31.

That is the entire problem in one number. A DR 31 domain in a KD 78 market is not competing. It is watching.

Problems Identified

Not on page two. Page four and beyond, in one case page seven.

“personal injury attorneys las vegas,” 900 searches a month at $45.97 a click, was at position 64. “las vegas personal injury lawyers” was at 50. “las vegas personal injury attorneys” was at 48. “injury lawyers las vegas nevada” was at 45.

The site had pages. The pages had content. Nobody had ever pointed enough authority at them to make Google take the domain seriously against firms with ten times the link profile.

Our Link Building Strategy

90 placements between October and August. Guest posts and link insertions into already-published pages, the same approach we run everywhere. No content, no technical work, no changes to the site itself. Just high authority backlinks with our law link building services.

Domain Rating went from 31 to 36 across those eleven months. That is a smaller-sounding jump than it is. DR is logarithmic, so the links required to move from 31 to 36 are considerably more than the links required to move from 11 to 16, and every point gets more expensive from here.

Forty-eight positions on the primary money term. That is the number we would put on the wall.

The two that broke page one are worth separating out. “accident lawyers in las vegas” went from 39 to 8, and “nevada injury lawyer” appeared from nowhere at 6. Both are lower volume than the head terms, and both convert like everything else in this vertical: at $61.85 and $59.11 a click, a first-page position on either one is worth more per month than its search volume suggests.

What that did to traffic?

Organic traffic went from 2,413 a month in October to 8,120 in August. An extra 5,707 visits a month, up 237%.

The line between those two points is not straight, and you should see its actual shape before you decide what the headline is worth.

Traffic climbed to roughly 6,300 by March, then slid for four months to around 4,300 in July, then jumped to 8,120. We do not have a confirmed cause for the March to July slide. Rankings held through it, which points at seasonality or a change in SERP layout. Nothing in the data suggests the site lost ground. We are telling you we are unsure because we are, and because a straight line drawn between two convenient dots is how most case studies get written.

One note on the August figure, since it does most of the work in that 237%. Ahrefs models organic traffic from current ranking positions instead of counting sessions, so an August reading taken on the 10th is a projection across the full month, not ten days of partial data. It is still a single snapshot. We would want a closed month and a Search Console cross-check before treating 8,120 as the settled baseline.

What We have not done yet?

Nine of the eleven terms above are sitting between positions 11 and 18. That is the top of page two and the bottom of page one, which is the least satisfying place in search. The clicks are still going almost entirely to the four firms above them.

That table is current to 31 July. Given what traffic did in the first week of August, some of those positions have probably moved again, and we will refresh the figures when the month closes.

So this is a case study about half a job. What 90 links bought was the move from invisible to contending. What it did not buy is page one on the head terms, and we would be lying if we implied otherwise.

The useful thing about being stuck at 14 to 18 is that it tells you exactly what the next phase costs. The firms holding positions three through eight in Las Vegas have DR profiles in the 50s and 60s. Closing that gap is another twelve to eighteen months of the same work at the same rate, and it is a real question whether a single-market firm should spend it here or put the money into paid search where a $45 click at least arrives today.

We told the client that. They are continuing.

The Read

If you are a low-DR domain in a market where every term is KD 75 or above, links will move you a long way in eleven months and will probably not put you on page one. Ranking 64th and ranking 16th are both worth zero clicks in isolation. The difference is that one is a dead end and the other is a runway.

Ask any agency pitching you on a market like this one what position they expect you to hold at month ten, and whether that position pays for itself. If the answer is a percentage instead of a number, ask again.
